Enhancing Market Knowledge

WORK PACKAGE 5

Responsible : University of Southern Denmark

A collaboration between the lead beneficiary, the University of Southern Denmark, West Flanders and Region Västra Götaland will provide a strong partnership to direct and manage the transnational actions within this activity. The main focus of this activity is to enhance transport-logistic market knowledge in support of the food industry. All partners will work together and bring in their specific knowledge and expertise in 4 activities:

  • Activity 5.1 'Scan of regional food clusters', a quick market analysis or scan will be made of the regional food clusters. All regions will use the same methodology under supervision of the University of Hull, who will aggregate this for all regions.

  • For activity 5.2 'Inter- and intra regional food product flows', West Flanders has developed a business model to collate and record the export flows from shippers on a city level basis. This will be applied in the different regions under supervision of the University of Hull. This will provide the necessary input for concrete realisations in Work Package 'Supply Chain Sustainability and Efficiency' - activity 3.1 'Realisation of green transport corridors for food products' and activity 3.2 'Clustering of food-logistic activities'.

  • For activity 5.3 'Food logistic cluster management', all regions will use the same methodology to develop a food-logistic action plan in order to manage and strengthen the regional food-logistic cluster. This will be done again under the supervision of the University of Hull, who will aggregate this for all partner regions.

  • For activity 5.4 'Sustainable food-logistic scenarios', University of Hull will work closely together with Region Vasträ Götaland. All regions will gain from the specific knowledge developed within this activity.
